Stephan Talneau
Stephan Talneau is a French filmmaker specializing in music documentaries, artist portraits, and cross-platform storytelling. With over 20 years of international experience, he has worked across television, film, and digital platforms as a director, editor, and cinematographer. His work blends documentary realism with cinematic expression, exploring sound, identity, and place.
He has directed for Arte, BBC, History Channel, France 2, and Discovery Channel, and collaborated with artists such as Melike Şahin, Kardeş Türküler, Baba Zula, and Erdal Erzincan. Notable works include Saz – The Key of Trust (Arte, 2019), the Human Requiem in Eleusis (Arte, 2025), and four long-form reportages for Arte’s Re: Regards series.
He is also co-founder of Kadıköy Sessions, a thriving music event series in Istanbul. Talneau is known for discovering and documenting emerging musicians, shaping their visual identities from the early stages of their careers.
