Spyros Doukakis

Spyros Doukakis is an Assistant Professor of Digital Technologies in Education at the Department of Informatics, Ionian University, and since 2023 serves as President of the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) in Greece.

He studied Mathematics at the University of Patras and the University of Amsterdam as an IKY fellow, holds a second degree in Computer Science, and earned a PhD in Digital Education Technologies from the University of the Aegean.

His research focuses on computing education, educational neuroscience, distance learning, and digital technologies, and he has coauthored textbooks for secondary and higher education.

He has also served as Head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the American College of Greece, where he was actively involved in academic leadership and educator development.

A Fulbright Scholar and recipient of the Harvard Club of Boston’s Excellence in Teaching Award, he has received international recognition for his contributions to education.
