Rüdiger Schaper

Rüdiger Schaper, born 1959, is a writer and journalist based in Berlin. He works freelanced now as a cultural correspondent, after many years working as the director of the cultural department of Der Tagesspiegel, the leading Berlin daily paper. He specialises in theatre, art and cultural politics.

He has published several books, including biographies about the scientist Alexander von Humboldt and recently, the poet Rainer Maria Rilke. Two of his books have been translated in Greece, by Nefeli publishing: “Μικρή ιστορία του μεγάλου θεάτρου” and “Η Οδύσσεια του πλαστογράφου Κωνσταντίνου Σιμωνίδη”.

Rüdiger Schaper travels to Greece regularly.
