Nicholas Yatromanolakis
Nicholas Yatromanolakis is the founder of Policy Lab, working with public and private institutions on strategy, governance, communication, and growth, while generating positive socioeconomic impact through public interest innovation, cultural insight, and policy expertise. Policy Lab is also LinkedIn’s Preferred Partner for Greece, Cyprus, and Malta, helping organisations leverage data, tools, and learning solutions to support evidence-based strategies, skills development, and outreach.
From 2019 to 2023, Nicholas served as Greece’s first Secretary General and then Deputy Minister for Contemporary Culture, leading reforms that recognised both the intrinsic and functional value of the arts and creative industries. He secured over €400 million for new programs, including one of Europe’s first nationwide cultural prescription programs linking arts to wellbeing, the revival of traditional Greek crafts, a new Status of the Artist framework, the development of culture-centric local economies (such as Eleusis after its designation as European Capital of Culture), and initiatives fostering the democratisation of cultural participation.
Previously, he held senior roles in organisations including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Microsoft, Harvard University, and the RTL Group, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Basil Papantoniou Foundation. He recently contributed an essay on Greek cultural policy since 1974 to diaNEOsis’s landmark 50 Years after the Metapolitefsi edition.
