Maria Kikidou
Maria Kikidou is an Urban and Spatial Planner specialising in participatory planning, cultural initiatives, and urban regeneration. For over a decade, she has been actively engaged in the coordination and implementation of innovative projects in areas such as sustainable development, public space management, and the cultural empowerment of local communities. As a partner of the non-profit organization PLACE IDENTITY CLUSTERS, she has contributed to the design and implementation of participatory initiatives such as “Mind the Waste”, “CityToolBox”, “PEDIO_AGORA”, and numerous citizen workshops across Greece and abroad. With consistent involvement in research and cultural initiatives, her approach combines strategic thinking with tools of participatory leadership and social innovation, aiming to reconnect local communities with the environment, culture, and local identity. She is currently collaborating with the General Secretariat of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment at the Ministry of Environment and Energy, serving as a Project Management Consultant for projects co-funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Greece 2.0), including the Urban Planning Reform Program “Konstantinos Doxiadis,” which concerns the implementation of urban plans across Greece.
