Elisabeth Ioannides

Elisabeth Ioannides (PhD, ECP.h) is an education curator and art psychotherapist at EMΣT | National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens.

She designs and delivers educational programmes for primary schools and vulnerable groups, while developing tailor-made, inclusive initiatives that foster meaningful public participation. Her work introduces participants to contemporary art through experiential approaches that cultivate imagination, critical thinking, and reflective engagement.

Since 2017, she has co-facilitated the art psychotherapy group Exploring the Museum’s Images – Exploring My Image with occupational therapist–art psychotherapist A. Pantagoutsou. In collaboration with K. N. Ramadani, she also implemented art psychotherapy groups as part of the pilot phase of ‘Art on Prescription’ in Greece.

She has served on Advisory Committees of the Ministry of Culture, evaluating proposals for grants and sponsorships supporting accessibility initiatives for people with disabilities in the cultural sector.

In 2021, 2023, and 2025, she was nominated for the Greek International Women’s Awards in the field of Art and Culture.

She has broad teaching and mentoring experience. Her research focuses on museum learning, art psychotherapy, health and well-being, inclusivity and the contribution of culture to educational and health systems.

She is a Board Member of the Greek Association of Art Psychotherapists.
