Eleni Giannouli
Eleni Giannouli is a Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychologist and Art Psychotherapist at the First Department of Psychiatry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Eginition Hospital, where she heads the Creative Arts Department and the Psychometrics and Neuropsychology Laboratory.
She is actively involved in the scientific development and evaluation of Art on Prescription (POLSyn) in Greece, with a particular interest in bridging arts and culture with mental healthcare and developing evidence-informed Arts & Health models that can be integrated into clinical practice and public health.
She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University for the Creative Arts (UK), where she is developing MÄ’TRA method, a practice-as-research framework exploring materiality, embodiment, relational processes and meaning-making through artistic practice and art psychotherapy.
Her research sits at the intersection of Arts & Health, NeuroArts, art psychotherapy and cultural prescribing, with a particular focus on how artistic, embodied and relational experiences may contribute to mental health, emotional regulation and human flourishing. Her broader aim is to help build meaningful bridges between clinical research, artistic practice, cultural environments and communities.
