Eirini Tsavala

Eirini Tsavala studied Occupational Therapy and Pedagogy in Athens, and completed postgraduate training in Special Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She completed her postgraduate doctoral studies in Paris, where she was awarded a Doctorate from the University of Paris, Sorbonne – Paris IV.

She has served in both mainstream and special education in Athens, Thessaloniki, Caen, Cherbourg, and Paris. She completed eight years of service at the 10th Special Primary School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Thessaloniki.

Since 1992, she has been actively involved in European educational initiatives, including school exchanges among EEC countries and the SOCRATES/COMENIUS European Programme – multilateral partnerships with Spain, the UK, and Italy (1995–1997). She also served as a national promoter of COMENIUS in the regions of Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, and Serres.

Since 2012, she has held senior positions in scientific and educational leadership in the South Aegean, including as Organisational Coordinator of the Regional Centre for Educational Planning. She currently serves as Director of Primary Education for the Cyclades, with administrative responsibility for 198 school units across 24 islands.

She is a co-founding member of the international educational network “From Myth to Space”.

She has published two books and has contributed as a member of the writing team for collective works on educational and historical subjects. She has participated in international and national conferences with presentations, and her work has been published in international academic journals.
