Claudia Paetzold
A graduate of the Sorbonne, Harvard and Christie’s Education, born and raised in Germany and currently based between Paris, London and Athens, Claudia Paetzold has acted as a creative consultant and curator for more than fifteen years.
She has assisted in building private collections and foundations and provided consultancy services to a myriad of art organizations, including Art Basel. Her curatorial practice focuses on art as a portal for awareness and evolution through original concepts which integrate contemporary art, ancestral knowledge, technological innovation and applied sustainability.
In 2020 she received the Leading Cultural Destinations Award for Best New Culture Destination of the Year in Latin America as the artistic director of SFER IK Museion in Tulum, Mexico, a trans-disciplinary creative sphere where she namely organized Alliga, a three day convening focusing on the proliferation of seaweed in the Caribbean comprising an exhibition of works created in collaboration with local craftsmen, performances, nature incantations and creative exchanges. Recent projects include a Sunrise Snow Seeding Meditation with Ernesto Neto in a James Turrell skyspace as part of the Engadin Art Talks in Switzerland, an experiential exhibition on Primordial Waters at Domaine des Etangs in France and Fire Forests in Eleusis, Greece, a collaborative endeavour to create a fire resilient forest as a community project with artists entering in resonance with the regeneration of the fabric of life, thus nurturing all strata of the ecosystem.
Her curatorial projects have been featured in the international press, including in Artforum, AD, Travel&Leisure and the Financial Times.
