Apostolia Papadamaki
Apostolia Papadamaki is an internationally acclaimed choreographer, director, and interdisciplinary artist whose work bridges performance, ritual, and ecology with over three decades of creation across dance, theatre, opera, and large-scale events.
Her specialty lies in site-specific, participatory, and ceremonial performances in archaeological sites, museums, natural environments, and public spaces. At the heart of this practice is Anamnesis, an ongoing artistic project that reimagines performance as a collective rite of remembrance. Created especially for each site, Anamnesis interlaces mythology, philosophy, ecology, and contemporary expression to create transformative experiences that reconnect participants with ancestral memory and the living world.
Alongside her artistic practice, Apostolia is an embodied spirituality mentor drawing from her Hellenic lineage. For over two decades, she has guided retreats, workshops, and immersive communal experiences that cultivate unity consciousness, ecological awareness, and collective responsibility. Her guidance encourages participants to “remember our ancient future”, integrating timeless wisdom with contemporary pathways for transformation.
Through this unique synthesis of art, spirituality, and ecology, Apostolia envisions performance as both a cultural offering and a healing force, nurturing a new humanity that dreams forward into transformative possibilities.
Apostolia has served as Board Member of the Athens Concert Hall, President of the State School of Dance, and leader of EU Creative Europe programs fostering international collaborations.
