Andrea Pamfilis Camp
Andrea Camp is the lead advisor for the NeuroArts Blueprint Initiative, a partnership between Johns Hopkins University and the Aspen Institute. In that role, she shapes the Initiative’s strategies that turn the science of the arts and aesthetics into policies and practices to advance individual, community, and societal well-being across many sectors.
With more than four decades of experience across government, academia, and the nonprofit sector, Andrea has worked at the intersection of science, policy, and creativity to advance health and well-being. She previously served as Executive Director of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee, interim Chief of Staff to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and senior legislative and communications advisor to U.S. Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder, focusing on women’s health research, women’s economic rights, and family wellbeing.
Andrea’s contributions to women’s health research were recognized with the Keystone Award in Women’s Health Research from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Research on Women’s Health. Her writing and research have appeared in Ms. Magazine and in major reports from Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology, including Precision Medicine: How Sex and Gender Drive Innovation (2016) and Sex-Specific Medical Research: Why Women’s Health Can’t Wait (2014).
Andrea has served as a senior advisor to a range of non-profit organizations and academic institutions, including the Women’s Heart Alliance, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the Civil Society Institute and Wellesley College.
