Alex Zeke Musca
Alex Zeke Musca is a filmmaker and artist from Santa Monica, California. Growing up skateboarding across Los Angeles, he developed an eye for the neighborhoods, people, and stories that might otherwise exist only as the space between two destinations.
Musca co-directed and edited his debut feature, Adrift, a tropical neo-noir starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Rene Moran, and Elpidia Carrillo. The film premiered at Cinequest, screened at the Miami Film Festival, and closed the Puerto Rico Film Festival before being acquired for worldwide sales. His second feature, Pockets of Heaven, was co-written, produced, and edited by Musca and directed by Maria Belafonte through New Wrinkle, the production company they co-founded.
Beyond features, Musca has directed music videos and commercial work for artists and organizations including Vans and Sankofa.org. He is currently developing several new films, including Poppyfields, produced with Greg Kwedar and Stephanie Roush.
Outside filmmaking, Musca has designed furniture featured in The Wall Street Journal and has served for eight years as American Director of the Dominica Coffee Revitalization Initiative, an effort focused on rebuilding Dominica’s coffee industry and supporting its agricultural communities.
