Afroditi Pantagoutsou

Afroditi Pantagoutsou holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and completed training in Art Psychotherapy at Art and Psychotherapy Center in 2005. She has been a Certified Member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (E.A.P.) since 2008 and Full Member of the European Federation of Art Therapy (EFAT) since 2019.

Since 1989, she worked at 1st Psychiatric Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Aiginiteio Hospital. From 1989 to 1993, she worked in Psychosocial Rehabilitation at Community Mental Health Center of Vyronas–Kaisariani. Since 1993, she provides inpatient therapeutic services at Skarpalezos Wing.

Since 2005, she designed and implemented Art Psychotherapy groups in Personality and Eating Disorders, and since 2015 in Day Hospital. Since 2014, she supervises students at the Art and Psychotherapy Center, and since 2022, volunteer Art Therapists at Aiginiteio Hospital.

In 2017, she implemented the group program “Exploring the Museum Images – Exploring My Image” at Museum of Contemporary Art.

Her research interests include Art Psychotherapy, personality and eating disorders, transference/countertransference, and supervision through Response Art. She is a member of the UMHRI research team in the Cultural Prescription Program (Greece 2.0).
