Eva Stefani
Eva Stefani is a documentary director and visual artist. She is also professor of film history and theory at the University of Athens.
Her films have been screened in many international film festivals (Idfa, Cinema du Reel, Oberhausen etc). She has participated in major international exhibitions such as Documenta 14, Kassel and Biennale 19, Venice. Her work has been shown in retrospectives held by Oberhausen Film Festival, Europe autour de l’Europe, Genova Film Festival, etc.
She studied political science, anthropology and film and she was trained in observational filmmaking and ethnographic film at New York University, NY, the National Film School, Britain, and ateliers Varan, Paris.
She has published two books on documentary and a book of short prose “Fin’s hair”. She has directed more than 30 films (documentary / experimental). Her latest work is “Ancestors”, produced by the Athens, Epidaurus Festival 2026.
